Its better to wait, it will not take that long. i have waited for 1 week for amber update for my lumia 920 and it worth it. if you flash your phone there is a possibility that it can be brick. your choice but its better to be safe than sorry :)

Re: GDR2/Amber Update I guess not. If your phone belongs to UK then you have to wait for the amber update from that country. you do not need approval from the Irish carriers.

check if you can find the word "Lumia Amber" in "Extras+Info" in Settings. if not then it it not Amber update.
