It seems to be hit or miss on my new 640. When on WiFi only I got the notification of a media message but it wouldn't download. This was the same symptoms I had with the 521 before the 8.1 update.

Well it looks like T-mobile is finally pushing out some 8.1 and Cyan, any indication if they will get to the 521 soon? I haven't seen anything on the t-mobile site yet, anyone else see anything?

Place the phone in a bag of rice overnight, it will pull all the moisture out. This is very effective from past experience.

I was going through the same delema, I opted for the 256 and just placed the order earlier. I chose to go with the larger SSD just incase, and really no other reason. Sorry I can't give you a better reason

As someone that is still waiting on WP8.1 I wouldn't hold my breath. It's quit possible it wil be upgradable but will the service provider and Microsoft actually release it. I would just get what you need now and be content. If they release an upgrade then Bonus for you!
