hi jack, i do have a 3G subscription. I confirmed that with vodafone and even if i didn't have one it would start consuming my regular prepaid balance on my phone. And I have been using 3g on my other phones with this same sim

I initially ignored the "kids" feature, because I don't have kids and i don't give my phone to anyone. But now am using it as a quick access feature with calculator/camera a few of my games etc. Only bad part is you have to unlock your phone with a password ever time.

@adroit9 i just called up the shop where i bought it from in Singapore and I told him my problem and asked him if he's sure the phone is completely unlocked. He got offended and said ofcourse it is unlocked and that it is illegal to lock a phone in Singapore. So that has been cleared up too now.

I just googled the APN settings for my country and the vodafone staff had apparently done it right when i took it to their office yesterday. So now i'm back to square one. Looks like its a problem with the phone. I'm just not ready to accept it though :/
