Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 runs at 30 FPS on Xbox Series X

I'm not sure how basic, factual information is clickbait for trolls? We weren't a part of this round of previews. Also, (as I wrote in the article) I absolutely think it's the right call in order to push Hellblade's visuals. The game looks stunning, and it's my second most-anticipated game of...

Remedy Entertainment gains control of Control franchise from 505 Games

Indeed, and we've even seen multiple former "middlemen publishers" like Focus Entertainment staff up internal development in order to stay relevant. Remedy is strange, having been a well-respected team for 15 years now, but it seems like it *finally* commands the respect to possibly handle...

Electronic Arts lays off 670 workers, cancels upcoming Star Wars shooter from Respawn Entertainment

There are companies were layoffs, while awful, are understandable. Supermassive Games just recently comes to mind. Electronic Arts made $5.85 billion in profit (would've been even higher, but there was a big stock buyback). It's not a "struggling company." For a relic of the past, it's...

Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer confirms some Xbox games are headed to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch

I understand where you're coming from, but the fact is, Xbox shouldn't be expected to respond to every single rumor. They were already planning on doing this exact podcast, they just bumped it up because of the nonsense that exploded. Looking ahead, I do hope Xbox players stop being quite so...

MLB The Show 24 launches in Xbox Game Pass in March 2024 for Xbox One and Xbox Series X

It's definitely a bit strange, like I wrote in the news analysis, I was honestly expecting this to be the year it expanded to PC. Feels like the last real area that's even possible for expansion.

Palworld is the biggest third-party Xbox Game Pass launch ever, with over 7 million players on Xbox so far

yeah, I'm not going to pretend it something that directly appeals to me, but I feel like I *have* to check it out myself just for posterity at this point.

PlayStation exclusive horror game Until Dawn is headed to Windows PC later in 2024

I'm really, really curious what ends up changing with this. As long as the team at Ballistic Moon is careful, it could be huge.

Redfall update adds anti-vampire sniper rifle and more bug fixes, new heroes coming in 2024

I'd say Redfall is now in the state it should've been at launch. It's not my favorite Arkane game, but it's much better, and with a ton of bugs fixed and quality-of-life features added, the focus on the story and act of killing vampires is much more enjoyable.

Baldur's Gate 3 will come to Xbox in 2023 with no split-screen on Xbox Series S

Agreed. As I wrote when covering the news, I think Microsoft will need to keep an eye on this moving forward and make sure developers are trying to support the Series S in good faith, but in a situation like this? Just allow it.

    Xbox FY23 Q4 gaming revenue increased 1% year-over-year

I'll be sure to include other publishers recent financial results in the "read more" section moving forward. But for MS, basically it's not great but it's not terrible. Considering the games they've had in the past six months, still seeing any growth in content and services/Game Pass is very...

Microsoft is raising Xbox Series X and Game Pass prices in most countries

Family Plan is in testing (and said testing was expanded to a couple of other countries in the last couple of months) but beyond that, still nothing. I certainly hope we learn more soon, it makes sense to push that hard for this holiday once Starfield + Forza Motorsport launch.

MachineGames' Indiana Jones is an Xbox exclusive title

I agree, I think the wrinkle here was the fact Disney was involved. After all, the original agreement called for a multiplatform release. However, Microsoft clearly had incentive and means to get things renegotiated, and so they did so.
