Unfortunately, Microsoft hasn't shared details as to why it stopped using data centers. I've reached out to them to see if there are more details available. So far, we just know that the company does not have any active underwater datacenters.

I think it's already ridiculous at this point. These features should be opt-in, not opt-out. And many of them should just be separate apps.

I think that's the norm. A lot of people assume others are power users or enthusiast. While there are people who used this feature and are happy to see it return, I bet if you polled a group of everyday PC users they wouldn't know about it.

I used WSA and have used Bluestacks. Neither are (or were) perfect. I'd say Bluestacks is more versatile out of the box, since you don't need to jump through 50 hoops to use Google Play.

The first line of the article is "Microsoft is bringing back a File Explorer feature that many have missed but there's a chance you haven't used before." I know a lot of people miss the feature. There are also a lot of people who read the article who have never used it before.

Microsoft can't release a laptop with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite before Qualcomm launches that processor. The next Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 has what is arguably the most exciting processor in the Windows space for years. Microsoft needs to wait a few months to be able to ship PCs...

I'd love to see more competition in this space. Hopefully Apple making a more modern studio device would push Microsoft to do the same.

The "quite easy" steps you just listed are far beyond what millions of people will ever do on a device. I understand it's not technically difficult to install an APK, but a ton of everyday users just click to install apps and will never use command line or anything similar.

The Amazon Appstore is so lackluster that it's almost unfair to compare it to the Google Play Store. Perhaps a more accurate statement would be "without a good store," but I didn't want to put words in the mouth of the Clinick. He has far more knowledge of it than me, so if he says WSA doesn't...

uBlock Origin works better and is more customizable than the built-in adblocker on Edge in my experience. But it is nice that there's one built in.
