Would you still buy a L950?

That was just one example of a bad app. Outlook would crash. Edge would crash. Sometimes i'd be typing a URL or an email and the app would crash to the home screen. It wasn't just the insta app.

Would you still buy a L950?

Well this is what i've been saying since I got the phone. Apps seem to be generally much more unstable on W10M. Even professional apps such as instagram. It crashed often on my W10M. On my DTEK50 and my iPhone SE, it hasn't crashed once. I loved the camera on the 950 but that was the best thing...

Would you still buy a L950?

You see, this right here is the thing. With iOS, 9 times out of 10, if you get an issue, you can resolve it via the menus or via a simple turn off and turn back on. With W10M, my issues couldn't be resolved that easily. And bug reporting via Microsoft is good but even then they don't listen. The...

    Goodbye Lumia 950...

I can assure you I was doing nothing wrong. I'm an advanced user of technology - i've actually recently sat and passed Linux exams. Attaching an email to an email is kindergarten-level stuff. It's interesting that it worked for you though, but it makes it all the more strange.

Would you still buy a L950?

All you've done there is just post a large bunch of alleged issues with iOS 10? If I really wanted to and had the time, I could dig up hundreds of threads whereby people have issues with W10M.

mattiasnyc - I think we'll have to agree to disagree. I can't fathom how you think W10M isn't a failure. Even Satya said "we clearly missed the mobile, there's no question" source: https://uk.news.yahoo.com/satya-nadella-clearly-missed-mobile-071551059.html. Having been on the crackberry forums...

Would you still buy a L950?

I get that and I can understand how it's useful in that very specific instance, but Continuum, if we're honest, has been a bit of a failure from what I see. If i'm honest, I haven't even seen Lumia's out in the wild (well, I saw a 640 recently, but it was an old, battered, used model). The...

Would you still buy a L950?

Not trying to diss continuum much here but a modern PC with Windows 10 and an SSD can start and be logged in, in approx 10-15 seconds. Continuum is a great idea but I think it's redundant for most. I personally would love to see the day when a phone IS a computer and can do everything my PC can...

    Goodbye Lumia 950...

mattiasnyc - fair point. I didn't intentionally want to mislead anybody whatsoever and I hope i've clarified the issues I had with the handset. Cheers.

    Goodbye Lumia 950...

The S7 is supposed to be good. I've just bought myself an iPhone 6 as my replacement for the 950 and I have to say... it's unbelievable speed-wise. I can navigate around the OS rapidly, I can close apps much quicker than I could with the Lumia. Believe me guys, I wanted to love my Lumia 950 - I...

    Goodbye Lumia 950...

I'll explain it a bit better because i've probably not explained it well enough in another thread. I *did* see the slider setting - what I was saying was, the Lumia 950 has a drop down menu where you can select 0, 25, 75 and 100% brightness. At night, even 0% is too bright. W10M doesn't have...

I was running the official production build with all of my issues.

    Goodbye Lumia 950...

I was thinking this - but I did soft resets. I did hard resets. I erased the phone. I also downloaded the Windows Recovery Tool and downloaded and re-installed W10M. I still got the same issues so I decided enough was enough.

    Goodbye Lumia 950...

Thanks Rosebank. You can actually test the VPN now - if you've got the anniversary update installed, download 'Hotspot Shield' which is a free VPN and also has a paid option. When you try to run it, it will not start the VPN. This is because whatever Microsoft have done in the Anniversary update...
