Windows Central Photo Contest: Microsoft Hardware & Devices!

No windows phone camera contest could be complete without a shot of the best camera to ever grace a windows phone. It's only weakness was its inability to take pictures of itself, so grabbed this with a Lumia 1520. EDIT Forgot to include that I swapped to black and white on the 1520.

Image stabilized video show down - Lumia 920 vs HTC One

Honestly, I'm very impressed with the One. It's the first HTC in a LONG time that I've liked. I just happen to like the Lumia 920 better. ESPECIALLY if the camera is important to you.

Image stabilized video show down - Lumia 920 vs HTC One

That was my biggest frustration using the phone's camera. Exposure and focus are REALLY aggressive.

Image stabilized video show down - Lumia 920 vs HTC One

Honestly I doubt much will happen. HTC wont want to have to re-design the phone, these things have already been manufactured. I expect that HTC will pay a penalty or license the mic tech, and in a couple weeks this will all be over.

A bit more in depth than some of the other samples out there.

    Touch Pro startup/shutdown sound?

Weird. I really thought there was an option in there. Huh... Anywho, the phone sounds come from two .wav files in your \Windows folder, PhoneOn.wav & PhoneOff.wav. These are used whenever the cell radio is activated or deactivated. You can't delete them, but you can over write them with...

CrackBerry Kevin on the Fuze - Help Please!

I use SPB Imageer (which comes with a screen cap utility), but this free one should work: http://freewareppc.com/graphics/spbscreenshot.shtml Problem is, it's kind of a pain to map the hardware keys (by default the only "key" you can remap is the voice command "button"), so I usually just use...

    Touch Pro startup/shutdown sound?

Well, it kinda depends on what start up sounds exactly. Those coming from flight mode, or the various tones played during a soft reset. For flight mode, you should be able to turn off those sounds by going to: Settings-->Sounds & Notifications-->Notifications You should be able to customize...

    comparison question

Seidio just released a 2000mAh, but it adds a huge bulge for not a lot of extra juice. I would recommend getting the 1500mAh battery and going two batteries for a little while. At least until a good 3000mAh comes out.

    comparison question

HTC has added a better task manager to end programs, so it's definitely better than the 6700/6800, but with so much RAM I don't spend much time closing apps. Well. I would take a look at what you need to do. The Pro is one of the fastest WinMo phones I've ever used, though it does need a little...

    comparison question

I had a 6700, skipped the 6800, and went to the Pro. I can't really compare the two, but I can tell you my experiences. It feels SO much smaller in the hand (if a bit heavier). In portrait mode it's only a little bit taller (and almost the same thickness) as the free LG flip phone I got...

CrackBerry Kevin on the Fuze - Help Please!

LOL! Yeah well, MS is trying to boost Exchange, so whatchagunna do. I can happily say though I've had far fewer down days with my free Exchange server than my wife has had with BIS (and when Exchange goes down I don't lose my browser - backatcha:p). To save almost $400 a year on my cell bill...
