    The NEXT Windows Phone?

I seriously doubt they'll be any more Windows phones, it's just not worth the investment. Alcatel have the only real option where they re-purpose a single design for three different platforms i.e. Windows, Blackberry and Android.

Why is the UI so inconsistent?

It's in a constant beta state, this is the reason for the inconsistency (or one of the reasons at least). 8.1 was pretty consistent throughout, but 10 is a bit of a mishmash, good in some areas, not so good in others.

Transferring Whatsapp Chats to Android (from W10M)

I recently went to Android and would have liked to known if this is possible, and to an extent it may still be quite useful to me. When you get to Android, if you want to use your Microsoft account still, check out Nine, it's better than the official Outlook app, and has decent widgets for the...

Windows 10 Mobile build 15031 Discussion (Redstone 2; Fast Ring)

Interesting, but too little too late, have gone to the dark side now. Still have my L950 sitting on the shelf at home unused, but will likely sell it in the next couple of weeks.

Windows 10 Mobile build 15031 Discussion (Redstone 2; Fast Ring)

On which phone? The FM hardware wasn't exposed in earlier builds, so no matter what app you used, you'd never get FM radio functionality (on some models).

Or delete all the alarms and just recreate them, usually solves it.

Windows 10 Mobile build 15031 Discussion (Redstone 2; Fast Ring)

I honestly don't know why they're (Microsoft) bothering to update mobile on current devices at all. They're clearly going to drop the current devices like hot potatoes when their next "Win x86/x64 on Arm" version ships (on newer hardware). That will be a different beast to the current version of...

Buy a new Lumia, or wait, or jump ship?

No-one made Windows phones popular, that was the problem, though granted, Nokia worked as hard as they could and did actually get a half decent market share in some countries, but by that point it was too late. Microsoft needed to have their OS ready around 18 months earlier than it was, and...

Buy a new Lumia, or wait, or jump ship?

I wish them luck, but without a huge marketing budget a la Samsung and Apple, I can't see them getting anywhere. Camera technology on phones has kind of plateaued now, it's not the differentiator it once was, so even with a decent camera, I don't think it'd be a massive selling point for them...

Buy a new Lumia, or wait, or jump ship?

Apologies if my understanding was wrong, but even if it were Nokia themselves, I very much doubt they'll be able to produce a Android phone that everyone will suddenly want more than the other already established brands. There might be some people who don't know any better that see the Nokia...

Buy a new Lumia, or wait, or jump ship?

But there are very few banking apps for Windows phones. There's no WP apps for any of the UK banks I use, the only bank I'm aware of that does have an app is Metro Bank (an American bank), but the services they offer are not very compelling compared to other UK banks.

Buy a new Lumia, or wait, or jump ship?

I would't bother with any new non-Windows Nokia phones, they're Nokia in name only, and are manufactured by HMD in China.

Buy a new Lumia, or wait, or jump ship?

Re: Buy a new Lumia, or wait, or jump ship?Il Same for me, love the OS and layout, but Win10M is going nowhere fast, all that is happening is that the speed that apps are being removed from the platform is accelerating. If Microsoft come up with a category defining product at some point in the...

Windows 10 Mobile build 15025 Discussion (Redstone 2; Fast Ring)

If I can't get on with Android, I'll probably pick up a 950XL at some point, but I want to give Android a fair go first. As for Insider vs Production, overall I've had a better experience with the fast-ring than I did on Production. And the current fast-ring build seems pretty good, apart from...

Windows 10 Mobile build 15025 Discussion (Redstone 2; Fast Ring)

I've been an Insider ever since I can remember (years), but sadly I will be leaving the platform this week, the app gap is becoming greater, and there is just soooo much more available on the other platforms. Granted, a lot of it is rubbish, but there are some gems as well. I've found something...
