    Fluent Design is great.

I think it's all a bit ho-hum, to be honest. Desirable, yes, but hardly the kind of thing to get super-excited about. Also, to some extent it does feel like we are just winning back some Aero-like features that we had way back in W7 and got taken away from us with W8.x.

Two essential Windows 10 Mobile features?

Thank you for looking, jeffchaplk - I appreciate it. It's a shame, really, as I think both options would be technically very easy for Microsoft to implement. Especially as the first one (automatic silencing on calendar events) was implemented in WP8.1 as part of a Cortana update. Again, thank...

Two essential Windows 10 Mobile features?

I promise not to bump this any more after this. Is anyone able to check those two things for me? It would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Current list of Windows 10/Microsoft problems

Actually, there is a fundamental shortcoming with this. In W7, icons on the desktop or in the Start menu had their title in text beneath them. For some bizarre reason, W10 removes the text when a Start menu tile is made "Small" (i.e. the same size as the icon would be). This is true of Modern...

Other than apps and Hardware what do you see as factors keeping users off of Windows 10 mobile?

Three suggestions: 1/ The Microsoft and Windows brands aren't "cool". For some reason, people love to hate them. Human nature is very fickle. 2/ A very "different" and unfamiliar UI, which most people will instinctively react against just because it's different: we don't like change (as...

Two essential Windows 10 Mobile features?

Hi, Last time I checked (about a year ago) W10M didn't have these two features: 1/ Automatic silencing on calendar events 2/ Repeating audible notifications (e.g. if I missed an SMS) Are either of these features available yet? Thanks!

Why is my B2B 20 x 2 pins from the sister board to motherboard connector not working?

I've found that the USB board, with its ribbon connector, is notoriously unreliable. I think there must be a design or manufacturing fault, because loads of phones seem to get this problem sooner or later. To be specific, I think it's the ribbon cable rather than the circuit board itself...

    Designing an app

Thanks! I've been a novice programmer for a few decades now () and am sorely tempted to try writing a UWA. In the past I've used Delphi for Win32 programs, and C for my microcontroller work.

    1520.3 airplane mode stuck

The spares market seems to be riddled with faulty spares. I must have bought four replacement USB boards from various suppliers, and three of them had faults - one stuck in airplane mode, one with the microphone not working, and one with only two of the three LEDs working. I suspect there is a...

    Frequent Shutdown

I agree - typical symptoms of a failed battery. The charge indication is NOT accurate when the battery is worn out and will give misleading percentages.

    Battery percentage

Why? How much does your battery drop in 15 minutes?

    Alternative to Microsoft OneNote app

I'm with Master Devwi - it works just the same on mine whether connected to the Internet or not. The changes are synchronised next time the phone goes online.

Cortana - silence on appointments yet?

msirapian: Thank you so much for your reply. Any rough idea when that feature might trickle through into a release version? Does it look like weeks or months to you? Thanks again.

Cortana - silence on appointments yet?

In WP8.1, Cortana can automatically silence your phone during Calendar events which you've marked as "Busy". I find this incredibly useful because I'm in and out of lectures all day and it's just not possible to remember to switch my phone every single time. One of the reasons I uninstalled...
