New to Surface Pro 3 with questions

First of all, are you referring to the physical keyboard or the on-screen keyboard? It's not 100% clear what you're talking about. Bring up the on-screen keyboard and tap the FN key in the lower left corner of the keyboard and you should see the Function Keys listed along the top of the...

    Refurb Surface Pro 3 anyone?

When my sons were around that age (almost 20 years ago), Santa brought them all the parts to build a computer. They unwrapped them Christmas morning but didn't have a working computer until they put it together. Took my younger son about 2 days to get his working, my older son took about a week.

    Seeing SP3 Around?

I have never seen anyone with an SP3 in the wild. However, I do see them being used in many TV shows so MS is definitely working hard on product placement.

    Refurb Surface Pro 3 anyone?

Poor thing! When I was 13 (1966), the only electronic device I owned was a set of walkie-talkies! I didn't even have a transistor radio until I was 16. Didn't get my first PC until the age of 31.

A Simple Solution for MS to Improve Lap Usage for the SP3?

Not worth the bother since actual usage in the lap is pretty rare for most people. I personally have NEVER used a laptop or my SP3 in my lap.

Need Help: SP3 + Docking station, and 4k Dell Monitor

Do you have another system you could plug the cable and monitor into so that you can confirm that they both are good? If you can confirm that they work on another system, that narrows down where the problem is. Since you say the Dell Display Manager doesn't even detect that a monitor is...

Roku 3 or Microsoft Wireless Adapter

Yes. The Media player is just a channel that you can add to any Roku player, including the stick. I just ordered 2 of the lowest priced models, Roku LT, and they work fine to stream video from my Media Server. I originally was going to order 2 of the sticks ($50 each) but this past weekend...

Need Help: SP3 + Docking station, and 4k Dell Monitor

Can you offer any more details other than it won't work? Have you tried plugging the monitor directly into the SP3's DisplayPort while in the dock or out? Have you tried the monitor and cable on another computer to ensure they are both good?

Roku 3 or Microsoft Wireless Adapter

Many are free (supported by advertising) while others are fee based. I also use my Roku to connect to my MediaServer and watch movies I have ripped from DVDs. You can do most everything the Roku can do with your Surface so if you are happy using your Surface to watch movies and such I don't...

Roku 3 or Microsoft Wireless Adapter

The Roku 3 has literally hundreds of channels that can be installed in addition to the Netflix and Amazon channels that jhoff80 mentioned. It is an independent device so it can stream content to your TV without using the SP3 but still has the ability to mirror the SP3's screen should you want...

Need Help: SP3 + Docking station, and 4k Dell Monitor

You should be able to plug 1 monitor into the DisplayPort on the dock and another into the DisplayPort on the SP3. If the monitors have output DisplayPorts, you may be able to daisy chain them where 1 monitor connects to the dock and the other monitor connects to the first monitor.
