I was actually able to install the ROM for RM-1064 (640XL USA Single Sim) to my RM-1096. It completely removed all that Chinese trash. Ironically enough though, the OS still detects the 2nd SIM slot, so sadly I still have the annoying icon on my status bar.

What about when formatting or updating to Windows 10? Also, is it really not possible to flash it to another region? I have read some posts stating that it's possible flashing a Chinese Lumia with a US ROM.
