Cannot Sign Into Windows 10 Business with a Local Account

Hi Rick, Sounds like creating a new local user is disabled by IT policy, I am presuming you were issued with a laptop by your company where you work? Or this is a personal machine which you went through the process of installing Windows 10 Business edition on it?

Even Microsoft's AI says the new Outlook is worse than Mail & Calendar on Windows 11

What a sad state of affairs a company once fabled for productivty software can't get a email client right.... the outlook app is terrible. It's so damn clunky...... as you can't even label different email accounts and you are stuck with the entire email showing 🤦‍♂️. My patience with...

My big list of ESSENTIAL Windows on Arm apps that you shouldn't live without

Affinity software suite of Designer, Publisher and Photo have native ARM applications as well as Ipad, Windows and Mac versions. Unlike comparable Adobe packages you don't need to pay crazy fee or subscription. I got the apps on sale for 50% for all three and they are extremely versatile...

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's tech museum shut down with vintage computing collection slated for auction

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ What a tragic loss. Microsoft could have easily made a 'charitable donation' to keep the museum running and that would have easiest PR they could have bought.

My biggest issue with Copilot+ isn't Windows Recall, it's that Microsoft is ignoring millions of Windows users

Nvidia is already in the ARM 'Game' with Tegra but it's nowhere near as capable yet in the desktop space. AMD is also is working on ARM SOCs. The only corp missing in action in this space is Intel and given their sheer laziness in innovating (which allowed Zen to slap them silly and out of their...

Microsoft CTO Kevin Scott says early previews of newer AI models surpass OpenAI GPT-4's reasoning capabilities and can even pass a PhD qualifying exam

So, is this why Microsoft axed the AI Ethics and Society team(s)? If these corporations aren't careful, they could literally unleash something akin to Skynet upon us all.

I think Snapdragon X Elite gaming performance is going to blow your mind, but there is still one big issue to overcome

There are upscalers in the works that are not GPU specific so in time using ARM socs will be able to match gaming performance of x86-x64 custom console socs graphics using upscalers. But the only niggle would be the finer UX elements which may appear blurry at very close inspection.

Lunar Lake delivers a faster core performance than ARM": Intel is on track to change the way you think about AI PCs

Intel have missed their target so often I'll believe their launch targets when they actually launch on time lol. I do wonder how much power Intels CPUs are drawing now given the fiasco with 14th gen... not to mention the ILM causing CPUs to bend upwards resulting in poor cooler performance...

Do you trust Microsoft with a feature like Windows Recall?

Nope. Microsoft has simply backtracked on countless promises in the past. Chiefly being Satya Nadella saying if none builds Windows Phones they will. It's been down hill since the mobile division, programmatic testers and QA divisions/teams got axed. By axing their mobile devices they axed any...

The enormity of Microsoft's Windows Phone shut-down mistake is becoming increasingly clear in the AI era

Actually, the app gap has been addressed and no. Android apps aren't the answer as that's already been tried and it didn't work. It's Win32 as these can be packaged and containerised. Banking apps can be installed as PWAs. Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, Viber, Line, Wechat, TikTok etc...

The enormity of Microsoft's Windows Phone shut-down mistake is becoming increasingly clear in the AI era

Well, it was the missteps but that has been re-hashed adnauseam. I've got so many thoughts about the points raised in this thread but even if I typed in a concise manner.... I'd end up typing a massive novel lol.

Microsoft should recall Windows Recall" — Security researcher finds Microsoft's new AI tool woefully insecure

Oh boy.... I wonder who was supposed to test this feature... oh wait Microsoft axed their dedicated QA team and programmatic testers.... it's as if like erm... axing these teams was what do you call it? Ah right, very "regrettable".... 🤦‍♂️ this was a totally expected outcome as devs cannot be...

The enormity of Microsoft's Windows Phone shut-down mistake is becoming increasingly clear in the AI era

You seriously want to be stuck using UX that's been in use for decades that is wholly inefficient? As someone who used to write contracts on the go and had over 20+ email accounts pinned on my phone, live tiles were a revelation. The current outlook app cannot handle more than 4 accounts at...
