Critical phone experience breaking battery level bug on builds of 10586

I think I am close to finding out the cause of this problem. I know this may be the battery itself getting old. However, this just cannot explain why this phenomenon was not occurring in 8.1 but only in 10. Therefore, it is likely it is the problem of the software instead of the hardware. The...

So are us "old phone" people getting Windows 10 today, or soon, or what?

To be honest, the desktop version of W10 is actually quite good and complete and no complains here from the day it is released. Smooth updates and problem free. It is the mobile builds that are troublesome, and just recently they asked ppl not to update to the most recent build on 550 *facepalm*

So are us "old phone" people getting Windows 10 today, or soon, or what?

If I were you, I would prefer them releasing later. I have been on the preview builds and it still need a lot of refinements and bug fixes. It can't even perform well on those phones pre-loaded with it, including the 950....

It was normal. Normal full charge and discharge. Roughly 9-10 hours of life on a full charge with medium load. On w10m, sudden death within hours.

Critical phone experience breaking battery level bug on builds of 10586

This thread is getting long..... So, to sum up the situation here, there are three possible explanation to the problem encountered here: 1. The battery is old and is over its recharge lifecycle 2. The OS battery level agent is bugged and not reporting accurate battery level in case of unstable...

Attention - Huge battery bug, anyone else experienced this?

Which phone are you using? Try turning off the phone and let it idle for a few hours to see if the battery level comes back. It seems that there are bug in recent builds regarding battery level detection and the battery saver. I actually have a thread talking about it...

I guess we need to wait for an official firmware for the 1520 on w10m then.

Critical phone experience breaking battery level bug on builds of 10586

I guess this is some what related to the interplay of the hardware and the os. It is weird that you cannot fully charge it provided that the replacement is genuine. I guess that's a related problem as the battery agent may not be reporting a correct charge level.

I have already done clean installs as mentioned earlier. I even tested on clean install of wp8.1 and w10m and only w10m behave like this. Battery usage under high load in wp8.1 was normal.
