T-Mobile LTE on 950XL vs Samsung Note5 isn't even close?

In general there's nothing wrong with the 950XL design antenna-wise. I can pull over 60Mbps on LTE with mine. You may have a lemon device, or your APN settings might be messed up, or something about your SIM card(s) is not making the 950XL happy for some reason.

    I have to admit something

I was basically in the same boat. Nice laptop, no pen, considering Surface 3. I picked up the i3 128 SP3 and have been using it for a week. Also got the SP4 touch cover (no fingerprint reader model) and the SP4 pen (no pen included with that SP3 SKU). Have to say I've been really impressed...

Migrating HERE MAPS favorites from Lumia 920 to MAPS on Lumia 950

I don't think there's an automated way to migrate from HERE to Maps. You can access your HERE favorites from the website and get the "map code" that you can plug into the Maps app one by one for the location. But the description and other info isn't included. From what I can tell it's a...

Videos not saving TO SD card

Videos that you take with your camera are treated as "photos" as far as that storage setting is concerned. Videos that you download from the "movies and TV" app are what it is talking about.

    W10M/Lumia 950 - WiFi Network

.29 OS and earlier has issues with 5Ghz wifi. .36 seems to fix it. Issue persisted after installing new firmware as well. My personal experience is on the 950XL but the issue appears to be across both 950-series devices.

    Wired Ethernet

MS will need to add drivers for the common usb-to-ethernet dongles. At the moment I'm not aware of any that work. I've personally tried a "Plugable" brand dongle and I got a message to the effect that the USB device wouldn't work. As for a wired internet connection port, there is no rj-45...

Anyone still not getting the 950 XL firmware update?

Yeah that's where I ended up. I really wanted the camera fix (and it's much improved, btw). I haven't gone back to insider so my 5ghz wifi is screwed up again but I figure .36 is probably going to be general release fairly soon.

Anyone still not getting the 950 XL firmware update?

erm, no..I wasn't complaining. I was explaining why "just reset" was a worse option than having an OTA update. Again, stating the obvious (I thought, at least).

Anyone still not getting the 950 XL firmware update?

I don't recall complaining..just stating the obvious. You asked why someone would do such a thing..I answered with one example of many reasons that would have compelled someone to do so. Further, MS missed an opportunity to use their loyal fans who are enrolled in the insider program to test...

Anyone still not getting the 950 XL firmware update?

Well, for one .36 had bug fixes related to wifi connectivity which was a major pain point to a lot of folks. "Just reset and don't sign up again" versus OTA update is a pretty big deal in terms of time commitment. Considering the actual purpose of the insiders program..the firmware should have...

Do those who buy 2nd wave U.S. online store have any issue ?

Doing a hard reset should allow you to get the upgrade (it's a known bug that MS doesn't quite seem to understand even now). It's possible that the firmware they are pushing out (at some point) might fix it too.

WinBeta reports huge battery gains from firmware update

same here. I haven't had a single reboot since I did that either (5 days now) where before it was rebooting about once a day under heavy use (lots of messaging, calls, bluetooth stuff, etc).

Do those who buy 2nd wave U.S. online store have any issue ?

2nd wave here and I had to replace mine due to SD card reboot issues. Swapped it out at brick-and-mortar MS store with no drama. New phone doesn't have the problem so I'm a happy camper. Not really noticing any other show-stopper problems as .36 fixed most of the other stuff (5-gig wifi etc)...

HD video playback lag and stutter

It's possible that the players in question are not coded to leverage the gpu (or other hardware based video acceleration) on the windows platform whereas they might be on android (Note 4). That would explain a lot...especially on higher res videos once the software-based decoding starts to...
