Unfortunately one of the best phones of the year is going to be dead before arrival whether any of us want to admit it or not. Windows Phone doesn't stand a chance with carrier exclusives. I would hands down buy the 950XL but I am on Verizon and that's all that works in my area.

The Apple watch will have no problem selling because of Apple stores. Apple trains their salesmen to be amazing at what they do. When the average Joe walks into the Apple store and the salesman starts showing what all they'll be able to do with their phone for ONLY $350, they'll have no problem...

I'm not sure what all the talk is about Verizon dropping all Windows Phones. The HTC One M8 and Samsung Ativ SE are still listed. The Samsung is a pretty useless phone but the M8 is a top notch WP.

I was going through the Lenovo website and found a computer that has Windows 8.1 with Bing listed as the installed OS. I have heard rumors about W8.1 w/Bing but last I knew nothing had been mentioned from MS about it...

1. I think Skype is more known for video chatting than IM. We used MSN at work and when support went for that everybody switched to Yahoo. 2. Have you tried making a video call from the W8.1 Skype App? It fails up to twice every time before the call goes through.

I disagree that it is a secret Google deal. Retail is in a tough spot. Retail controls what sells but they will only sell what sells...... Places like Walmart and even Best Buy don't employ people who know tech, they employ people who are salesmen. So many times the sales rep doesn't know...

I don't think OEMs do have confidence either. Especially HP with all the chromebooks they are pushing out as well as 2 Android powered laptops in the past year. Yes other OEMs are doing the same but HP seems to be doing it at a faster rate. Sent from my iPad Air using Tapatalk
