Is there any way I can uninstall the voice recognition language packs I'm not using? I want to make space for the 8.1

I don't think you can fix this without paying an authorized HTC repair shop. I know that nokia has a recovery suite, I've never heard something similar from the HTC side

You can visit a cafe nearby that has WiFi, there should be one with decent 24/1Mbps connection nearby.

Well you could try a hard reset (and lose all your data!!!!!!) if this doesn't fix the update issue then there could be something in your router blocking traffic between you and the device (highly improbable though)

I'm 16 and I insisted on buying my Lumia 520 and actually got into a fray with some friends who are AppleFanboys. Guys, guys. Nokia DeviceMaker=Microsoft. They can't just deny you the guarantee for something they made. It's stupid enough for them to do such a thing. :P

From my experience when a battery charges fully in a shorter period of time than that it used to in the past, on the same charger that means one thing. It's dying, the capacity the battery can hold gets smaller, so it takes less time to reach that lower amount of charge potential
