If the update is available for it, I'll use my W1 for testing, which normally is my backup phone.

One press: Play/Pause Two presses: Next Track Three presses: Prev. Track Long press: Activate speech. Volume controls seem to also work like a charm (tested with Sony STH30)

According to the specifications (https://dev.windowsphone.com/en-US/OEM/docs/Customization/Cortana_phone_number) : so I would assume this is a thing that only works over Bluetooth, not in the regular dialer. Manually adding a Cortana contact with that number and dialing it over Bluetooth...

You probably have a button to dial a contact, push that and select "Cortana" from the phonebook.

Maybe the better approach would have been having a "master volume" slider and then a volume slider per-app basis like on Desktop Windows (7+ I believe)...

Another interesting fact with my 630: Holding search button does not seem to trigger Cortana while it's locked - phone just stays locked - but holding the button on my headset/earbuds does...

Well - you might wanna vote this up, then: Cortana's needs separate or fixed volume!

Doesn't seem to be fixed for me, but then again the 630 lacks a proximity sensor - how would it know it's in my pocket :eck:

According to Microsoft, we now have AVRCP browsing, i.e. accessing the music library via Bluetooth (in your car for example) in addition to the basic play/pause/skip/previous commands. Is this working for anyone? I keep getting a message like "Feature not available" on my car's stereo when...

It's just that a mod moved this thread (and the other thread, too) to Cortana forums, while this was correctly posted as a GDR1 feature. Side note: It's not even neccessarily related to Cortana as you would have a dialer entry "Speech", if you disable Cortana/are on a region with no Cortana...
