    Monitor or TV?

I personally use a TV as both my workstation monitor and my gaming screen. It was the same price as a comparable monitor, had more HDMI inputs, and has built in speakers - something that isn't a given with some monitors. A dedicated gaming monitor would have a higher refresh rate, but the TV I'm...

    Samsung S8 Microsoft edition

Any launcher downloaded from the Google Play Store can be used as the default home screen on your device, and you will never see the original launcher again unless you choose to. The only difference between having it built in and having to download is a few taps; there's no functional difference.

Why would that any different than just downloading the launcher on your own?

Moving to ChromeOS after growing up with Windows

I'm not stating anything false. I'm taking the information and tools each company provides and using that to make an informed decision.

Not trying to sell anyone on anything, just sharing my experience. You speak like you don't know how their setup works. All data stays within Google's ad network, it isn't sold to outside parties.

Moving to ChromeOS after growing up with Windows

That's fair, and yeah if you don't already use Google services the barrier to entry is that much higher. Though the only services you have to use is Gmail for login and the Chrome browser. No need to use Google Docs, Search, Maps, etc since you can just use Word, Bing and Bings Maps in their...

Microsoft also has an advertisement service they collect data for and profit from, and their privacy policy specifically states they share the data they collect with other companies.

Moving to ChromeOS after growing up with Windows

Last year, I intended to upgrade my laptop to the new HP Spectre X360, but there was a critical issue: HP implemented the Thunderbolt 3 standard incorrectly, so trying to dock it to a USB-C hub and connect my second monitor became 20 minutes of begging the connector gods every time I needed to...

    Per Mary Jo - Possibly 2018 now...wow.

I get that, but Windows OEM's can't change the OS as much as Android users can, so there's less of a point of a Windows Mobile phone made by Microsoft. What can you imagine a Surface phone doing better/different than the HP Elite X3?

How's this for a Surface Phone?

Regular customers aren't going to use a dual boot device any more than they'd use a Windows Mobile device today. There's too much complication on a dual boot device, especially for something as vital as a cell phone. And there's no way in hell Google or Microsoft would certify that.

Mind posting screen shots? What exactly are you trying to do?

Apple vs. Google vs. Microsoft: which company handles your data better?

That was weird to see, since it went live a couple hours after I posted this on the AC and WC forums. Great mind think alike I suppose.
