Ok, the volume key option was there and already turned on. That will help a lot.

The Verizon SMS app is in the phone. The Facebook messenger one asked to handle the SMS so I allowed it. I didn't notice an option to use the volume key for a photo. Hmm... Maybe I will need to look again.

Oh, one feature I am missing badly, besides the camera button, is the Skype text message interface with the PC. I loved being able to use SMS/MMS from my PC.

How about just annoy the crap out of the existing developers (like snapchat) via email, twitter, etc until they finally make an app just to stop the bombardment of messages? HA HA! It might be mean to some degree but it could work. :-)

Lol I take several a week. However I am used to the closeness of the buttons and like how easy it is to take screenshots. Using double tap to wake/sleep helps a lot.

There is in fact NEWS built into the Cortana app which will pop up when you open Cortana app (Just by touching the search key on the bottom of the phone once) but there is also a NEWS app, which is likely preinstalled, that you can customize and use as well.

I used Continuum flawlessly a few weeks ago when I went out of town and was able to turn my hotel HDTV into a Win 10 desktop experience. Then the last time I tried to show the feature to someone the dang thing was freaking out like crazy. I haven't tried it lately to see if it is fixed. I hope...
