You can get around a lot of the apps by just using the webpages... I dont know about showtime but amazon instant video definitely works on the browser. I know the plug ins aren't compatible on the browser but it has full Silverlight and flash support.

Just don't expect a machine that does everything. I use the web for most stuff and my rt is brilliant. To be honest it has a native leg up on other stuff by supporting flash and Silverlight... It runs the web so the need for apps is kinda negated. I'm happy with mine and not even particularly...

Just use it for the stuff not on windows phone. There's a few apps and games. Or a very expensive iPod lol.

Some stuff switches back when it updates... If you've got your store automatically updating apps that might be why...

In short, no. At least none I know of...

My surface and my phone both run on the same account. My card is linked to both, my calendars sync and my OneDrive stuff shows up on both. I've never seen any apps get confused with updates... 8.1 does everything automatically anyway, I can't see any disadvantage with having the same one

You could have always just changed the region and language to us. It gives American search results sometimes but if you're on 8.1 it works without dp...

Re: mircosoft surface tablet is frozen I'm pretty sure the soft reset sequence is hold down the power button for 20 seconds, release and then tap the power button. Seems to do the trick when my rt wont wake up sometimes...

I want a Z3 running windows phone. I love Nokia to pieces but if sony did that I think id go a bit fan boy... I know they smash buy I love the glass sandwich phones, and the Z3 is a monster. And it seems to be the only phone with a camera to compete with Nokia hardware.

The technical preview has been stated as being mainly for enterprise customers, and ms have said that a lot of the touch features are missing. What you have is basically an alpha windows aimed at winning business over before release. I wouldn't worry too much, that's what the whole continuum...

If you don't mind slightly, erm, unofficial (?) streams, try flashvideo. It has a trial and has links to sites such as firstrow and other "unofficial" streams...

Honestly, I'm really not bothered if my surface gets W10... 8.1 works perfectly on it (lack of certain apps but whatever...) and it will be a 2 y/o update by the time W10 is released. It would be lovely if its supported and to have the new os work like a charm, but id rather have my full 8.1...

Someone mentioned Sony on wp... If they released a z3 running wp id seriously consider that as my upgrade in the spring. I love Nokia but there's nothing at the moment that warrants an upgrade!
