Why isn't my Band 2 counting the floors I climbed correctly?

I have both the Fitbit Surge and MS Band 2. The Surge has no trouble counting floors. I get credit for one floor whether it's the 7 1/2' basement stairs or the 12' stairwell at the office (4 x 12' stairs with landings between each set of steps. I get credit for 4 stairs). Plus the Surge...

Cracking and how you wear the band

It also depends on the type of exercise you do. I can definitely feel pressure from the B2 when I'm doing pushups and pressing weights over head (even though the B2 is worn loose). I feel slight pressure when doing curls and pull ups. but no pressure while running or walking. If I wear the B2...

Band 2 is faulty, Microsoft should recall it.

I have a relatively large protruding wrist bone. My Band 2 usually sits between the top of my hand and this bone. If I move the B2 above the bone, it digs into that bone and causes pain; so I have no choice but to wear it below the bone. Now I don't have the issue with my Surge's rubbery band.

Band 2 is faulty, Microsoft should recall it.

This issue is real. The band for a fitness device must be very flexible to allow for wrist flexing (especially during push-ups and certain weight lifting exercises). The Fitbit Surge has a very flexible band (i.e., rubbery), but even that design was flawed because the last 1/2" of band, that...

Band 2 is faulty, Microsoft should recall it.

All this reminds me of the Microsoft 360 game console. The main issue back then was the Ring-Of-Death (All 3 red lights on in the power button). I had it fail four times and MS finally got it fixed when they redesigned the motherboard. So the 5th 360 console has been working ever since. BTW...

    What's new in latest update

I had my first power down issue after the update as well. I noticed mine was dead just before I started my treadmill run. It would not power on, but when I hooked it up to the charger I got the warning that it powered off due to low battery (reset time and date, etc), then it went on to...

How do I stop step counting in a car?

I'm sorry I can't resist. For those over 50: Fred Flintstone had the same issue with getting step counts while driving his car.

I have a Samsung S5. The phone Motion setting is still disabled.

    Rubber strap splitting on Band2

This may be the final straw that drives me back to Fitbit. Fitbit just announced the Blaze (will be available in March). It has replaceable bands so I don't have to worry about band tears. I had my Surge replaced after 10 months when the band on it split. Add the 5 day battery life and it...

    Health app and Firmware update

Step count was higher on mine as well. Although it still is about 12-15% less than my Surge. It probably isn't picking up most of the steps while I walk my two dogs. My arms don't swing back and forth but bob up and down. The Surge gave me nearly 100% credit for those steps; correctly...

Snow Shoveling vs. Steps vs. Excercise

I was not wearing it while shoveling because the "gummy" rubber band on the Surge gets hung up on my coat sleeve. BTW - That is the main reason I bought the Band 2 (because of the smoother and lower profile design). Now that Fitbit released the Blaze (redesigned Surge), I will probably get...

Snow Shoveling vs. Steps vs. Excercise

My Band 2 logged 10,000+ steps while shoveling snow. It's interesting that it under counts normal steps (compared to my far more accurate Fitbit Surge), yet gives me 10k step counts when I probably took just a few hundred real steps while shoveling my driveway and sidewalk.

    Charging time

I charge my Band 2 every morning using the USB 3 port of my Dell laptop at work. Normally the charge is ~ 50% when I start. It takes about one hour to get it back to 99-100%.

New update fix altimeter and HRM?

My FitBit Surge's stairs count is nearly 100% accurate. You must have a seriously defective one as FitBit uses both the altimeter and arm motion sensors for calculating stairs counts. After using the Surge for nearly a year, I purchased a Band 2 mainly for the style and screen. However, the...
