Android OEM's are allowed to make their products unique, and they take advantage of that. It's all part of why Android has been so successful(and windows phone has not)

With regards to a medium or smallish tablet running Windows and selling well, it's not going to happen. Tablets of that size need a store full of popular touch-based apps, and the Windows store doesn't have those.

I have not had a single problem with games that used to work on Windows 7 not working on Windows 10, and that goes for Origin, Uplay, GOG, and Battle.net games as well.

Reading the article, they're getting that huge number of fake apps from Chinese stores that aren't Google Play. They do go on to list a few that they did get from Google Play, but the article is deceiving.
