i have sold my m8 for windows

This really is a bit of a moot point on the M8 anyways. Most of the phones were sold new in 2014. This would mean that the batteries in them have about 50% of their original life left. Unless you wanted to blow $100-150 to send it in to have a new battery put in by HTC, these things are left...

Again, you're splitting terms - though for the record here's the definition of "HACK" for you from WIkipedia: In modern computing terminology, a kludge (or often a "hack") is a solution to a problem, doing a task, or fixing a system that is inefficient, inelegant or even unfathomable, but which...

Seriously, "root changes" is a generic term. It's not saying you need root access like Android. I could have said modifying the system files or whatever, but the fact is you need to HACK the phone to enable the APN editing. It's not something that the average joe-blow from the street is going to...

I'm not sure that this is really on HTC as the M8 came out so close to the EOL for Win 8.1. If more units had sold, would MS have pushed Win10 to HTC to make them release it? Maybe, but that's all a guess at this point. The fact of the matter was the M8 was the first serious cross over handset...

I loved the Titan and Radar which is what the M8 really reminded me of. It was more polished and finished, but it was very similar in style. The M8 was no harder to fix than any of the Nokia models that were out at the time, and it's not nearly as difficult as the glass back models that are...

So, being real, and loving my M8 immensely since release, I had to take stock of the current crop of Windows devices and wonder - is the M8 the best Windows phone that was ever made? I broke it down and realized that for me, it was the PERFECT phone except for one tiny-glaring error... The...

My Note 5 went in for service and I'be been on my M8 again for a week...

Actually, the loss of advertising dollars had nothing to do with pulling it from the core OS. The issue was FB/Twitter/Linked In were doing so many API changes so often that MS was having to release a full "Windows Update" to fix it when it was in the core OS. By pulling those out of the core...

Thanks for the heads up! Not sure that I want to download an update with how smooth everything is going, but who doesn't want the latest right? Downloading now...

My Note 5 went in for service and I'be been on my M8 again for a week...

So, my Note 5's charging port to a crap last week and I had to send it into Sammy for service. The only other Verizon phone I own is my M8 for Win, which I've been running as a Win 10 phone since the rollout was available for it. I never trusted the software enough to use it as a daily driver...

HTC One M8 hot, poor performance

You have a rogue App or something is hanging open. Charging temps on the 2.0 Quick Chargers can get pretty hot, but overall, it shouldn't be more than warm to the touch. Is there anything keeping it spinning in the background - like updates in the store that are stuck?

Windows 10 for HTC One M8?

Once you figure out the limitations of the camera, you'll find it's not so bad. The ultra pixel concept is actually fantastic, but it's not made for "detail" shots outside of Macro mode. It's like a point and shoot camera - which is what they were going for with it - an overall good level of...

Anyone have a link to some stylus options?

I would love to start taking better advantage of all the new Win10 note taking features, but I have not had the best of luck finding a compatible stylus. They used to be everywhere, but now I only see a few A02's out there on Amazon. Anyone have anything that works BETTER?

    Rapid Charge

I've never seen the M8 for Win on the supported device list. It is a deal between Qualcomm and the charger though, so it should in theory work, but "official support" for anything M8 for Windows is all be done.

HTC One M8: How to switch from Windows to Android?

There isn't a solution to this one as the bootloader is locked and HTC Dev won't unlock them like the Android models. It goes back to the fact that Windows 8 was a pay-per-install OS... It may become a possibility as MS releases the tools to load Win10 on Android devices, but for now, that's...
