I am using Skype,but hey lets be honest here,Skype is pretty slow with late message delivery people actually only use it for Video-calling rather than texting. Well I never tried Group Me though. Give me some info about it.

No offence but official slack app for windows phone is still in BETA and also is not entirely smooth to do some social texting. Can you try to use above mentioned app and then we will make a community.

I think you should hard reset the phone before installing anything new. You should also format your SDCard. And yes donot forget to take backup of your SDCard. Goto settings then search for backup.
