I just picked up a Band at my local Msft Store. Got home, opened it up, plugged it in, and turned on the Health app on my HTC One with Android 4.4.
The Band was starting its setup process, and now I am stuck at the Checking for Updates screen. Band is unresponsive and will not reboot. The Health app on my phone just keeps spitting out a Network Connection error. My phone is connected to the Internet fine, my bluetooth is on, and my Band is sitting right next to the phone.
Microsoft support just closed for the day 😢
Anyone here know what to do??

Seems I fixed it. Did a hard reset on the Band, uninstalled the app on my phone, reboot everything and now it works.
Hopefully this helps someone who has the same problem.
