Took off my BAND today and noticed one of the battery covers is seems to be loose near one of the screws. If I flex the band, there's a sizeable gap between the cover and the band and I can see something metallic, possibly the battery. I can't tell if it is splitting or the torx (star?) screw is loose. Since I don't have the right tool, I can't try to tighten it down. Just curious whether anyone else has seen this. I'm a bit concerned that sweat will get in there and mess with the battery.

Mine looks like it has a gap where described, assuming I'm looking at the right spot.

I think this is meant to give some so the band doesn't snap.

If you bought the extended warranty, or if it's got a while before the natural warranty runs out, I would wait until it actually goes as I have a feeling your replacement will be the same way.

I do see that gap too when I part the sides to take it off.

I'm not going to play with it... even though I do have the right drivers... for all I know it likely always showed a gap there I just never noticed.

I wonder if this might have something to do with how you open up the band to put it on/take it off? The inner panel looks inflexible. Bend things too far and it may come loose.

I think I put it on/take it off like a bracelet - open up the band and slide it over the hand. The alternative is to open it enough so the wrist can pass though the opening. That might cause too much flex.

Mine looks exactly like the picture posted by pil71. I spoke with tech support and sent in pictures. I was told by a very helpful, polite customer support specialist that this is normal. Particularly on the right side (when viewing the BAND face). However, he did document it so if down the line there's a problem, it can be considered under the existing warranty. I have the complete plan as well.
