Swiping slow on the band?

Got my band in the UK today, very impressed so far. Only thing is that swiping seems very slow and it requires a monumentally long and big swipe to move from left to right. Is that standard for the band? I'm sure I'll get used to it, just wondering whether I have a faulty product.

Mine is also like that. I think the reason for that is, you can see limited number of tiles and the tile strip is too long so if you swipe too fast you may miss the tile you want to touch.
