Why isn't my Band connecting to my desktop?

Band not connected

Connecting the band to the desktop. Getting the message "Your Microsoft Band is not connected - Please plug in your Band"

It seems to be charging OK and the rest of the options work OK (Settings, About, Dashboard, My Profile).

This started happening after downloading the latest Software update.

Turned it off and back on, restarted the PC etc - no change

Any ideas?
