Yesterday I went running wearing my Band 2 and noticed, that in order to see the heart rate I had to swipe to the left. Unfortunately the screen changes back after a few seconds. I switched between the two display modes with a quick double press of the action button but it seems that the heart rate-info is only (temporarily) available if you swipe to the left.. but this is not convenient..

am I missing something? I recall that on Band 1 the heart rate info was always there during running workout..

The same problem exists with the bike app. I think there should be a way to "arrange" the default screen information on the various apps. Some may want speed, some may want HR, some may want distance.

Go into the health app on your phone > manage tiles and press the little pen icon next to the app and you will get the menu to arrange the stats to what you want on the front screen
