Is there a way to get the actual battery percentage of the band without plugging it in? I had expected I could see it somewhere in the Microsoft Health app if not on the band itself.

Pimp my Band has a live tile with the Band's battery level updated a couple of times per hour. However, it is not compatible with W10 as far as I know, but I'd be surprised if they didn't update it soon.

Hopefully, somebody will fill the void soon with a live tile showing Band battery (and on the flip side, another user-defined Band metric).

Pimp my band works on my 1520 with Win10 (10586) and my Band2.

I think the app was updated just yesterday or the day before.

not a real on-the-fly workaround for battery percentage, but if you connect the band 2 to charge and switch it on manually, then the battery percentage is shown in the upper right corner of the display...

we can only guess why microsoft doesn't give us the option to show this all the time... :(
maybe it will be available in a future release...
