Why isn't my Cortana working?

Cortana not working

Hi everyone

I treated myself to a band this week and love it
Only real downside is lack of non health apps just like WP

But I am having an issue getting Cortana to work

History

I set it up no problems and cortana worked
A day or two later went to show someone and basically told me that my phone was out of range or off

Had this for a few days so disconnected and tried to re pair it
What a nightmare but after two resets and several Start Overs finally got,it all paired again

But still no Cortana
Basically tells me that's it's paired but out of range
(Typically for the first time in four days as I wrote this it works)
Now it tells me to go to my phone to complete
anyone else having issues
