Bluetooth keeps disconnecting, how can I stop it?

Bluetooth keeps disconnecting

I have a band 2 about two or three weeks old
And a alumina 1520 W8.1

Apart from one episode my band receives emails texts etc ok but last night lost its Bluetooth connection

I've tried reconnecting and have paired it about 5 times but as soon as the band goes off the Bluetooth disconnects

My phone has several band 2 Bluetooth devices paired
I've tried removing them
Rebooting my phone and band
Turning both off and on but they just won't stay connected

Any ideas out there?
Up to now I've lived my band

Hi Steve251,

Some brief questions to help investigate:

  1. If you get an SMS, does it show up on your band?
  2. Can you see if media controls are working?
  3. If you go in to the app and press the sync button, does a sync complete successfully?

No, no sms come through
Not sure where Media Controls are - never seen them
No, it says that it is not connected

Overnight I had the sleep thing on and this morning I told it I was awake
It was still not connected
I took the band in to another room and connected it to my laptop to charge up from 88%
When I took it off an hour later Bluetooth had connected. It stayed like that for about 90 to 120 minutes but no notifications came in (my phone didn't have any either)
But now I notice that if i swipe right the bluetooth symbol above the heart symbol is now no longer lit like it was this morning
My phone shows two entries for the band
Steve's Band 22:5d LE for both
Sometimes I get as many as 5 entries in here
Both are paired but not connected
if I try and connect it just says Could'nt Connect

If I look at my band it says Paried To Windows Phone Band Name Steves Band
If I try to pair again it always asks me if want to pair to an iPhone

Overall I really like the band. Just need to figure out why this is happening
I just powered it off and on again and no luck
Last time this happened I had to uninstall the app and event then it took a day to get it to work

After I posted this reply I deleted all the entries for the device on my phone
Done this several times without prior effect but this time it worked
Still dont have any notifications but they may come through yet

Unable to get this working (an I am an IT guy that specialises in fixing broken computers and supporting people of all sorts of issues when they walk in my shop) I rang Microsoft through their Answer Desk. Very quick service

I explained what had happened and what I had done to try and resolve it
He had me reset the band but it made no difference

He said he could exchange it but it takes 8 working days
So I logged in to my Amazon account on Friday and organised a replacement free of charge
It arrived about 12.40 today
Set it up, it connected immediately and now up and running again
Only time will tell if this is a problem with the bands or if I was just unlucky

Just an update

The wonderful Amazon exchanged my band.
The new one worked perfectly for weeks and weeks until I added some new tiles like BBC news etc.

Now Bluetooth is often disconnected on band and all attempts to get it working including resetting the band have failed.

Interestingly the last time my band stopped working was when I installed the same tiles
Coincidence? I don't think so. :unhappy:
