What is wrong with my Lumia 540???

[Windows Central Question]

Often (but not always) my battery life drains within a few hours (when fully charged) even when nothing is open and the phone is not in use. Sometimes when I charge my phone (using the given charger) it takes hours to charge just 10% of the battery. Other times my phone just turns off on its own. Then when I try to turn in on it either doesn't respond or keeps looping at the Microsoft logo until eventually it turns on. What is going on??? This phone is still relatively new I've had it for about 9 months. It was like this on windows 8.1. I updated my phone to windows 10 thinking the update would fix any bugs but it's still the same. These issues just happened completely randomly I did not drop the phone any time recently. I also have barely been using my phone for the past few weeks (when this started) anyway so it can't be from overheating due to overuse. Is there any way I can fix this?? Hi, first of all I would try a soft reset (Vol down + power button until device goes off/vibrates)
Failing that try a hard reset.
