call recording

I remember very well reading that lumia 550 and 950 came with call recording support. But on my 550, it doesn't. I have the default voice recording app installed but when i go to settings to choose an app to record calls, that whole option is greyed out. Next to it is present though the option to choose default app for caller id(i have chosen truecaller ) and it works fine. Why doesn't the call recording work? I've tried resetting my phone, tried changing region to US, nothing helped so far. Any help please, anyone? Thanks.

Exactly my thoughts....no reason it shouldn't work. This is so weird. Wish anyone could help.

Hi. I am using Lumia 650 & I am having the same problem so I did hard reset. After that the call recording was there but after few days it went again. I check What I am doing wrong so I hard reset again & seen this:
Just after installing & configuring Truecaller, after restart there is no voice recorder option enabled. No matter, after that how many times you do sift reset, uninstall truecaller or do whatever, then option will be grayed out till next hard reset.
