    How is the performance of this big boy .... (it got SD 400 which got me on doubt .... at least SD 615 would make me happy)

    Depends on your standards I suppose.

    If the other 400-equipped phones are any indication, it'll perform just fine. (see Lumia 640, 830, 735)

    Wont be as speedy as the fancier phones obviously, but will you be left hanging? I doubt it.

    I think good. Its a mid-range so don't expect anything else. Also, most mid-range Android phones also are using the snapdragon 400.

    I saw it noted in a few video reviews that the "return to start screen tiles" animation is a bit stuttery, and the handset I received is the same. Overall there's hardly any *major* lag but that stutter coming back to the start screen is a tad annoying.

    *NB* that handset went back to Microsoft with a screen fault and i'm awaiting a replacement due tomorrow. I doubt there will be any change in that stutter.
