First they claimed May 29th (I think), now it's June 8th.

The "pre order" price is $270. I can't believe that will be the final price once the phone is released. If so, it wont sell. With the lower end specs it has it should be a $200 unlocked phone in the year 2015 with all the competition in the lower end market.

I disagree, $270 for a quad core 5.7 inch screen LTE, dual SIM Phablet seems like a fair price. Not to mention that its selling for that price all over the internet and people are buying them.

I figured it would be around $200 honestly. Not a good sign if it's already cheaper on eBay than it'll be at launch. With phones like the OnePlus One being $300 off contract the Lumia 640XL just doesn't fall in the same price segment.

I'm with you. Quad core is old hat now on cheaper phones and 720p on a 5.7" screen is nothing to write home about (still personally I think it's fine), at least from a marketing standpoint. Let's take the Zenfone 2, 2GB as comparison. You get a brand new 2015 phone model, a 5.5" 1080p screen, twice as much ram, twice as much on-board storage, quick charging technology (60% in >39 min), and good build quality, all for just $199 unlocked. The value is clear, the 640 XL doesn't come even remotely close if it's priced at $270 when officially released. Then again, that's my opinion. Others can spend as much as they want and if they feel it's worth it, good for them.

P.S. We wont even talk about the Zenfone 2 4GB variant for $299.

This is incredibly vexing. I agree, $270 is too much for this phone. What frustrates me more is them announcing the release date/timeframe and then here we are well over a month from that with NO release and no update on such. MS has done a great job at transparency and keeping in touch with the customer/fan base but I wish they would put out an update on this phone. Or the carriers or whoever.

Thanks
-Doc
