For quite awhile you could not find the 640 anywhere; now they are everywere. I just picked one up from Cricket for 99$ with the 35$ a month plan and was thinking I just got a great deal. I walk into Wal-Mart the next day and they have the AT&T go phone 640 for 79.88$. And they have about 15 of them on display. Just to see I went by another Wal-Mart and they have them with three hooks full waiting to be sold. They also had the 635 and 435 on display at both store.Guest I aint so slick after all.

It should take off, its a much better phone and the 520 sold for more than this when it came out. I am now carrying the 640 instead of my old reliable 820. Plan on keeping the 820 though as my backup just in case. My Moto G lte spends more time in Fort Worth than it does in my pocket, third return to be repaired. It isn''t even a year old (still under warranty) while my 820 is as good as the day I got it, over two years ago. Damn thing (820) is sturdy as a rock.

I returned my ZTE Maven to Bestbuy today and was looking for the 640 there, none to be found. Ran across the street to Walmart and nabbed a 640. Redeemed the office 365 for the laptop. Super deal!!

Swore I wouldn't buy the 640 because of the delayed release...

I remember on June 18th of this year around 6:00 p.m. I jumped up out of my easy chair, crossed my arms, looked away and said:
"nope...not me...I've had it...we are done Microsoft..."
As soon as I spotted the 640 in the WalMart 2.7 miles away I entered a disconnected mental haze and heard myself asking the kind lady behind the counter to grab me one.
I am weak...

I know what you mean lol, I have the 635 and was fine with it UNTIL I saw the 640, no brainer for me with all the updates/upgrades over the 635. The 635 felt like a high end entry model whereas the 640 is truly a middle tier offering. I bought it and am VERY PLEASED.

I remember getting my 521 and, as you say, it cost more than my 640 when I got it. The 640 basically fixes all the issues I had with my 521 such as battery life and poor screen readability in direct sunlight. If this had come out a year or so ago, I wouldn't have jumped to Android for a bit.

It remains to be seen if this will be as successful as the 520/521 though considering the news Microsoft put out recently. Yes, we all know they are not discontinuing Windows Mobile, but I am not so sure the general public will be as convinced. Here's hoping that is as great a success, if not more though :)

Well there are none in south TX, I checked 2 Walmart's a Best Buy and a Target. No Luck.
I had the same problem when getting mine ie I checked several Walmarts. None of the larger stores or more well established ones had it in stock. It ended up being a smaller more recently built store!

YEA! I found one at the Walmart in Windcrest TX. Nice little phone. Much more premium feel than the 635.

Not really sure what I'll do with it, I already have a 2 520's, 2 635's, a 920, a 1020, and a now a 640. I guess Lumia's are like baseball cards, you can collect them all!

It's the tracking down of the more elusive items that give collecting its thrill lol

Maybe you are weak...., But smart. I was ready to go with a LG G3 as my main phone. But when I picked up a 640 and it felt natural I decided to give it a shot. Or maybe I am just weak too.....
