640 stuck on rotating gears

Hi all
Was updating my 640 to latest Windows 10 build slow ring
After installing The phone restarted and showed rotating gears with a micro SD card symbol with a arrow and cross on it it progressed to about 60 :/: and now not moving forward
Is it bricked and why it is showing SD card symbol (I do have a SD card inside)

I have connected phone to charger fearing it will drain don't know will it charge though

So what should I do because it's been an hour and half since the install started
How long does it take to get to start up screen
Should I keep it overnight as it is hoping it would reboot normally
Thanks

Re: 640 stuck on rotating gears

It seems that you need to wait longer. I have just finished updating my sister's Lumia 535, and it took around five hours (yes, five hours) without performing a hard reset from 8.1. All the things you describe you see (SD Card with arrow, etc.) are the same things I saw in the Lumia 535.

I hope you haven't touched your phone while it was installing in the spinning gears phase - if you have, then you risk indeed bricking your phone.

If you wait, you most likely be done in a similar amount of time that I've waited... and indeed my sister's Lumia 535 is not bricked.
