Lumia 640 MMS not automatically downloading

I just got a Lumia 640 (windows 10), and under Messaging settings, the automatically download MMS setting is not showing? I already did a reset

I don't recall seeing this setting even in Windows Phone 8.1. However, in Windows 10, there is "Download files automatically" under Messaging Settings.

My Lumia 1020 shows "Automatically download MMS" , in the SMS/MMS settings. This is not shown in the 640 settings, and the "Download files automatically" isn't there either.

On my 640 (GoPhone on 10) you search for messaging and in messaging there is a toggle "Allow MMS if cellular data is off" and "MMS group text" that seems to be the extent there. Along with download messages from.... ( Last month, last year , anytime)

There are two ares to configure messaging one for apps and one for messaging so type "messaging" in search to see both.

Do you have a problem with getting pictures and group text through MMS? The 640 freezes with downloading the text. I thought it might be because it is not set to automatically download text like my 1020. For some reason the 1020 has the extra option than my 640.

No my wife and siblings sometimes send me pictures along with text ..they come through fine, i don't do group text.

Maybe call the carrier and have them reset texts, I had to do that initially to get Visual Voicemail going on my new phone 635 to 640 same sim.
