Screw Verizon anyways they'd find some way to botch their end of the support deal. I'd rather them not **** around this time if they do. Time for them to change face and ditch the monotonous villain undertones.

Band 2 and 4 are listed however and are two of the frequencies Verizon uses for LTE along with 13, so maybe. Either way whoever the phone works with is who I'm going with

HERE WE GO AGAIN (remember when WP7 was annouced ?)

At this point, these are GSM phones, so Verizon is a No-GO for now, unless you see Verizon making an annoucement, I would not count on it working as there would be no CDMA on these phones.

Even if you could hack it to get it working, getting it activated on Verizon would be a whole different story...

If 4G LTE, which I believe they are steering towards, then Band 13 for CDMA looks like 1,2,5,8. Looks like maybe more No?

    Networks
    CDMA1X; 3G EVDO 850/1900 Rev A with Rx Diversity 4G LTE/SVLTE 700 Band 13; 1700 Band 4 Global - UMTS/WCDMA –2100, 900, 850, 1900; GPRS/EDGE/GSM GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n FM Radio (with wired headset sold separately)

All the hardware possibilities are somewhat irrelevant when talking unlocked phones and Verizon. Fact is if they don't want to activate it, even if it would work on their network, it's not going to work. They only currently activate a couple of "unlocked" devices and that's iPhone/Nexus. Unless you hear from big red on this directly, it ain't happening.

OK. Let's pretend here that not everyone here understands the differences between the bands, CDMA, or GSM. According to "Verizon Wireless LTE 3GPP Band 13 Network Access Device Requirements" (Sorry it wont let me post the link here) I see the following...

    2.2.1.2.1 VZ_REQ_LTEB13NAC_6269
The device shall be an LTE category 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, or 9 device per 3GPP TS 36.306: Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA); User Equipment (UE) radio access capabilities.
Applicable to: [4G Basic Phone, Connected Device, Feature Phone, Femtocell, Jet Pack, Modem, Module, Netbook/Laptop, Router, Set-Top Box (VMS), Smart Phone, Tablet, USB Modem] - Scope: [Branded, LRA (LTE in Rural America), Open Access, Open Development, Wholesale]

However I also see that they are looking for band 13. Can someone pleasae read these documents and translate them into plain (non-communications engineer) english for the rest of us.

Oh, well, cool looking phone but we don't get to play (as a Verizon user) maybe in spring, Ya, know when the phone is old news....

Finally the perfect WP device (950XL), all the trimmings with 32gb of memory WITH MicroSD, we've only been begging for a high end WP device for ever now... (and the 1520.3 was the ONLY one/AT&T exclusive in the US)

Even if your could get the LTE bands working on it, using a VZW LTE sim, If you could get Verizon to let it work, it would be worse than the WORST T-Mobile area in most towns, due to Verizon falls back to their 3g/CDMA network for calls and data when needed. Even if you drive and you could watch your signal the whole way, you will see a few areas that go back to 3g...

    Very common here in CT...

    The revised the report:

Microsoft's new Lumia phones will launch with AT&T in the US

Corrected at 1:54 p.m. PT:The deal between AT&T and Microsoft for the Lumia 950 is not an exclusive one.

AT&T will carry the 950. Both Lumias will work on AT&T. They should also work on T-Mobile. The current band support does not work with Verizon. That surprises me a bit since the rumors were that the radios were universal like the iPhone 6s or the Moto X Pure Edition.

I was told in the past that Verizon expected them to be universal radios and considered selling them to business customers, but things change. I don't know the expense of those radios and the amount of carriers that use CDMA globally is small, so great expense to support few customers doesn't make great business sense.

Windows has seen the best success on AT&T and T-Mobile. Their new devices support both those carriers. The rumors have been that other devices are going to Verizon and I think the prices are there to open the door to other OEMs.

We'll see what happens. I have no problem going to AT&T or T-Mobile if I need to.
