Last I checked W10M is still not ready.
Why would anyone buy 950/950XL with unfinished OS?
    I think I will wait.
With phones the OS is much more tightly integrated with the hardware. Windows 10 is probably much more finished if not done for the 950s. It's the older phones they're having us beta test on.

Windows 10 is the reason the phone hasn't been released. If WP10 were out, we'd all have 950s in our hands.

Sounds like its just about ready to go: Windows 10 Mobile RTM Build 10586 Relase Date (Public)
I would think its more ready for the 950/950XL then for the older phones that will get the new OS.

I was excited and waiting for this phone so I could return to Windows Phone but it's becoming clear to me MS doesn't care about the platform anymore. Still no word on these things..the hype wore off for me, ordered 2 nexus 6p's.

I still hope WP10 ends up in a good place though.

I'd like one but for some reason Germany is one of the few places you can't get the dual sim version of the 950 XL (just the 950). And they are not giving away the same sweeteners with the 950, making it essentially the same price.

The 950 would be OK, but it is expensive (and as I mentioned elsewhere, broadly speaking anything over 470 euros is a multi-year tax write-off, anything less can be deducted in a single year), so I may wait.

Not defending him, but it's easy to get discouraged when Nadella himself (at the event in India today), begins his conversation about mobile by pulling out an iPhone. Yes. That. Happened.

I mean, it's just a slap in the face to any WinMobile enthusiast.

Nadella has to push the money products. If he just pushed WP products he'd be targeting a fairly small audience, even in India. We need iOS/Android users to get hooked on MS services, then move them over to WP.

I believe this is what you're referring to:
The CEO begins to demonstrate some of the tools he uses on a daily basis. To everyones surprise, Nadella pulls out an iPhone, but quickly says that, Its not my phone, but its an iPhone, but it includes all the Microsoft apps and services. Its a Microsoft phone, really.

After which he demonstrates products on his 950. Not a slap in the face, but a focus on services over devices to build brand identity on different platforms. Smart moves.

It doesn't benefit the customer in any way for these companies to be so closed-minded and 'xenophobic' to other platforms that they cut off their noses to spite their face. MS pushing its products onto iOS and Android platforms can ONLY benefit WinMobile enthusiasts in the long run. Frankly, I'm happy that MS is taking the high road and not playing the mean-spirited 'console-war' game anymore. The fact that Apple is still doing it makes them look like pricks.

Being the 'my chosen platform is better than your chosen platform' guy is short-sighted and petty.

Unfortunately not. I looked at switching to AT&T but with recent additions of iPhones for the wife and kid I'd be looking at about $1800 to purchase a 950XL and buy out those phones.

Not sure what kind of special deal they got with the unique link but must not forget the $95 annual fee, unless that's waiver somehow.
    Spend $2,000 in 3 months. 3x points for ATT related, phone $650 x tax = ~$692.25(MA)= ~$21.00, get back $650.00 (for phone) + point = $671.00, (remaining ~$1,330x1=$13) =~$684.00 - $95(annual fee) - (($45 plan +$15)x Tax) = ~$525 free to you (you paid tax, 1 month service, and annual fee)

    BTW, B&H got the 950XL for $629.99, so that's another $20 saving

Not sure what you are saying the cost with the CitiBank AT&T card deal is but you can get the 950XL (if $650) for $188 if you are an AT&T customer or $232 if you aren't - the difference is the need to pay for one month of unused service if you aren't going to use the phone on AT&T. If you are NOT an AT&T customer they will issue an unlock code (even before you open the box) if you request it BEFORE activating the phone (since the unlock rules are different once you are an AT&T customer).

    Breakdown here: http://forums.windowscentral.com/mic...ml#post3273711

BTW the B&H savings are even more because unless you live in NY, you save sales tax which is almost 10% where I live. But the B&H phones do NOT have a Microsoft warranty in the US because they source the phones from another market BUT B&H does provide their own 12 month warranty which I know first hand is great from the 1520.3 I bought from them. I have early 950XL pre-orders with Microsoft and B&H and will probably take the B&H phone.

Going to get the 950XL ASAP. I got an iPhone 6+ (not s) through Jump on Demand from T-Mobile and hate the damn thing. It's been in a drawer for 3 months. Wishing T-Mobile was getting the 950XL so I could JoD to that. As much as I'd rather jump to it just to get rid of the iPhone I'm ready to pay outright for it.

I picked up a TPU case for my future 950XL...I want to protect it as soon as I get it. I now have a nice empty Tudia Blue case, waiting to be filled. It gives me an idea how the size will fit in my hand. I played with one at the Microsoft store when they were first announced, but that was without a case. This will be my first real upgrade since my 920. Really hoping it comes out this month.
