I am thinking about getting the Lumia 950 XL and I am in Australia. I want to purchase it but AUD$1,129 (USD$800) is a little too expensive for me at the moment.

I was hypothetically considering buying it from the Microsoft store in the US and getting it shipped to Australia. In theory, would the unlocked phone itself be same whether purchased from USA or Australia?

I am considering this because if it would be the same then it would probably be cheaper to buy it in the US and get it shipped to Australia than it would be to buy in Australia...

Yes it would be the same.

Thats how we purchase phones in the caribbean; from the US.

IF we ever get the 950 in our country, it would cost around $1000USD :/

Thanks, I appreciate the insight from your experience.

Awesome, thanks for that. I forgot about Aus Post Shopmate. It is good that you thought about the frequencies that it and Australia operate on. It seems that the only incompatibility is in the power socket. I couldn't find it myself, but was there a difference in warranty, too?
