Anyone else experiencing a dark tint to the photos taken? Especially noticeable when you take a photo of a person and the lips turn out purple-ish.

What does this have to do with anything? Windows 10 is their focus... Windows 10 Mobiles run... Windows 10. Oh yes, that's right.

It's not the same. You don't merely update Windows 10 without addressing issues on mobile like Apps and bugs. Key executives are telling you "we don't care about windows phones anymore"

These are really great pics. Night shots are very clear. No noise. I wish there was a comparison photo between 930 and 950 as I am going to buy Lumia 930.

Here are a couple of videos I captured at Euphoria Fest in Austin. I got a couple from Bassnectar, Griz, and Above and Beyond.

So these are all great photos and without reading thru 15 pages of the thread, what are you guys using to capture these pics? I haven't dug into the camera options too much and I'm not a photo nut but I want to be able to take good pics in a spurs moment. Heading to Disney with family in a few weeks and want to be sure if I want to capture the moment as quick as possible that my camera is in the right "mode." Any thoughts or suggestions are welcomed. Also what would be the best "mode" for daytime vs nighttime. Thanks

In general, I think the default camera and default setting works best under most conditions. The 950XL amazes me in that you don't really need to fiddle around with settings too much to be able to take great pictures.

If you want to always "be ready" to snap away, be sure to change the camera setting to allow the camera button to wake the phone, and disable the one that prevents accidental camera launch when phone is locked. When reaching into my pocket, I will immediately press the camera shutter button and by the time I'm holding up the phone, it is fully ready to take pictures.

Just a note on HDR / Rich Capture. If you need to be able to take many pictures in quick succession, as I suspect you would in Disneyland, I would strongly advise you to turn off HDR / Rich Capture, as after taking a few pictures the camera pauses while the images are being processed. With Rich Capture disabled, you can continue firing away your shots. For the most part, you won't really need to use Rich Capture unless the lighting condition becomes very challenging (lots of strong lighting and dark areas).

Also, if you are recording videos and need to be able to zoom in very close to the subject (stage performance, for example), you may want to set a lower video resolution. Although you get the best quality from 4k, it also limits the zoom range. You can play around with different aspect ratios and different maximum zoom achievable, and decide from there. If zooming is not that important then leave it at 4k. Recording video is a good alternative to taking pictures as you would be able to extract high quality still images from it later.

If you're going to record video of the Disney fireworks, you may have trouble getting the right focus. I would suggest manually setting the focus. You can adjust the dial until you get the best focus, or sometimes you can just set it to "infinity" for distant objects.

This is all excellent info and the HDR and 4K video suggestions are highly appreciated. Without having "scene" options anymore it was hard for me to judge how to quickly get the best picture. Fireworks has always been a struggle for me so I will give the manual focus a whirl.

    Thanks

Yep, it's even more gorgeous inside! They even have a dog park lol. Actually, I'm thinking of moving to Seattle especially if I get that Amazon internship (why I was in Seattle)
