Was inspired by some of your start screens, with transparant tiles, but also wanted to use live tiles for information. So I went ahead and tried to combine the two of them. So now I have a clean star screen, and with one swipe down I get live tiles with weather and news.

(deleted some personal info from the screenshots ;))

hey, this might be a silly question but, how do you guys get the icons to stay to the side or bottom or wherever? every time I try to put my icon lets say to the bottom it moves back to the top, never mind to the right of the phone!

Pretty sure they are using transparent tiles in the places where there are no icons. Search "transparent tiles" in the store. I've used a few of the apps in the past.
I could be wrong though. Ha ha

You cant have empty rows, you can however, have empty spaces. So if you put just one app in a row (may even be a small tile)(, you can place the next app on the row below. Then, if you set tile transparancy to 100%, you get pretty nice start screens.

If you want to keep an entire row empty, you've to use an app that places an empty, transparant tile

Found a similar pic here in the forum, but I can't find the original post for some reason. I added some color variations. Thanks to the person who posted the original.
