INDIA: Are you happy with the pricing of Lumia 950/950XL?
Honestly the pricing is bad.. What made the pricing bad is the taxes i think.. People already using lumias will/may buy these phones.. With those price it will be tough to compete with androids and iphones and attract those people to switch to WP.. What do u think is the pricing correct?
Re: INDIA: Are you happy with the pricing of Lumia 950/950XL?
I don't know. While I think the price is a bit on the higher side, this was around how much I thought the 950 would cost, originally. I'm undecided about whether I'm going to buy this or not. Ideally, I would have liked it to have been priced around the ₹38,000 mark.

Yep even i wanted the same pricing.. 950 between ₹35-40k and XL between ₹40-45k
Re: INDIA: Are you happy with the pricing of Lumia 950/950XL?
Yeah... Microsoft does not know how to attract customers.... Keeping the mobile price high and with lots of app gap people will think 100 times that this phone is not worth for 35k..
Re: INDIA: Are you happy with the pricing of Lumia 950/950XL?
Not happy, with lot of OS limitations and bad impression about MS and WP in the mindset of consumers, the reality problem of app gap, delayed updates, more than that "app comparison" worst launch ever, showing why you should stick to android itself. Considering all this, CONSUMERS would be least bothered. Trust me, they don't even think about windows phone even if the cost is around 15k . Most go with ONplus brands

Is there a huge variation with the price in US/UK and India?

Os limitations are better.. If there was no limitation windows OS will be the same as android; buggy, malware,no OS updates,etc.. If app gap wasnt the problem with WP then definitely the price was worth.. But with the app gap and price being higher than competitors is bad.. And yes oneplus is just a oem.. Oneplus can even make a WP device at the same price but i dont think it'll be better than 950XL.. ;)

Re: INDIA: Are you happy with the pricing of Lumia 950/950XL?
It might be taxes, import duties and bla bla bla. But if Microsoft wants a decent market share in India, they have to cut their margins. The problem is late launch of 950 and 950 XL. Had they been launched in March'15 to June'15 timeline, the price would have been acceptable.
Now, compare
Lumia 950 to Samsung Galaxy S6 and
Lumia 950XL to Samsung Galaxy Note 5
The Samsung's are better in almost all aspects except, removable battery and SD Card. Samsung would launch Phone with new Exynos 8890 and others will launch with Qualcom Snapdragon 820 in Feb-March 2016 time Frame, for about the same price range(40k to 50K) and guess where Lumia's would stand in terms of hardware in next 3 months or so.
The pricing seriously left me heartbroken. I was forced to buy Note 5 due to delay in New Lumia Launch and Buggy Lumia 930. I had even contemplated selling my Note 5 before 950 xl launch, but these prices are not acceptable.
Will wait for another quarter, to let prices fall or if MS launches new Lumia with Snapdragon 820.

I bit the bullet, folks. I got a crazy good exchange offer for my 830. The phone - 950 - effectively costs me ₹30,000, now. And I'm taking it on a six-month interest-free payment plan.

^^ Now thats Alright! Where are you exchanging at?
About 950 pricing, it's ridiculous, it's probably the most expensive 950/XL pricing plan across the world. We can blame crazy import taxes for it :@ .. I would have liked the 950 to be at 35-38K and XL 46K. That would have been a perfect Indian launch. 950XL to include the free display dock only

In Hyderabad. And this is a steal, considering I'll be getting a display dock free.
