Dim glance screen when plugged in at night?

I use my phone as my alarm so I keep it plugged in next to me, and I enjoy the glance screen on at night for groggily checking to see if o have to get up or not! I've tried the different colors and night mode, bit don't like any of those. Is there any way to dim the glance screen when it's plugged in ay night? Any thoughts are much appreciated.

You've already tried the thing that I would suggest, which is the colors in night mode. Red works well for me. But if that doesn't work for you, I'm not sure what else to tell you apart from maybe covering it with a tissue or something to help diffuse/block part of the light.

Thanks Musicman, I might try it face down to see if I have to have it on all night anyway.

I wish it could be dimmed too. I go with face down. I'll try the red and see.
