You dont miss the navigation capacitive buttons?

And comment on battery life in comaprison to 1520, cuz quite frankly, this is the successor as far as we know it.

Screen: Colors pop more, deeper blacks, 4x sharper, and my 1520 was overly sensitive to touch even on the lowest sensitivity setting where the 950xl is not.

Processor: The 1520 seemed decently quick but the 950xl in comparison makes my 1520 feel like a dog.

Battery: 1520 had a sealed battery which after 1.5 years went half bad leaving me with a battery that would die when it reached ~48%. 950xl has a replaceable battery.

Size: 1520 was big and I like it. But the 950xl has smaller bezels along with just a smidgen smaller of screen. It makes the phone much more pocketable and I can use it with one hand. Yet the screen is still plenty big enough.

Continuum!!!!!!! With my free display dock I have a little computer on my hands. Plus the graphics processor is soooooooooo much more capable. Games play smoother and the phone does not get hot enough to melt skin.

On behalf of a few friends (4 to be exact, coming from other OSes), I'd like to say that this phone is astonishing! Screen is sharp, camera is great, and it gets stuff done. Plus Mozo backs make the phone look spiffy.

Before they would ask why I have a Windows Phone, now they ask why I have the 950 and not the 950 XL. How things change :D

How does one get this Outlook update? Thanks.

You should be able to go into the Store, then in the hamburger menu select Downloads and updates, then click Check for updates.

When you do this, let me know which version you get. I received the 17.6430.42252.0 update earlier today after installing the latest fast ring build; now, this evening I'm seeing an update available AGAIN. Not sure I want to install it because everything is working with what came to me earlier in the day.

I'll refrain from a lengthy praise. I've done so enough, I suspect. But I do want to be counted as one of those that was skeptical that the 950XL would get my primary SIM, being that it had spent 26 months in one of my 1520's. (I have a couple of them) I've messed with everything "cellular" over the last few years, (There are 650+ cell phones using our corporate backend) and the 1520 established itself as the King in so many ways.

But this 950XL, even with its early W10M freckles, IS the better over all package. It might have a less sexy paint job, but after working it, it earns the 1520's SIM. :)

I'm so impressed with where this phone is pointing to too. W10M is a major advance in mobile prowess. Can't wait to see the successor to this current ensemble.

Thank you JettleMania.

My Outlook went from 17.6419.42012.0 to 17.6506.42002.0

There was also a Windows Phone update too and now I'm at 10.0.10586.0 (I didn't know what it was before).

Got the 950 XL the day before Thanksgiving and haven't had many issues with it. It's definitely a breath of fresh air in comparison to the Lumia 820 I had before.

Wow you guys' comments have really make me lick my lips. I am on the edge about getting it since my 1520 is still a beast and superior to most phones in my opinion and that the Surface Phone is coming next year. But I really need a new camera (phone) since the Denim destroyed my front camera and Windows 10 continues that trend by ruining my back camera experience. I think the 950XL has a good chance to be my next phone.

This is my first Windows phone (formerly Android) and I absolutely love this phone. It's doing everything I need it to do. Took some great photos at my son's wedding on Friday. Especially like the 'glance' screen. I've got my main screen all fixed up and organized the way I want and I really like the fact that all my apps are on a list in alphabetical order - I kept losing them on my Android phone. Too many screens to go through. Found a great clock app (Clock Tile HD) that allows me to put a large digital clock on the front so it's easy to see (I'm in my 50's and eyesight not what it used to be). Super happy so far. Only thing I really miss is my Amazon Music player. I've got a lot of music stored in the Amazon Cloud that I don't seem to be able to get to.

Can you download the music from Amazon Cloud and upload to onedrive? Then you can use the Groove Music app to play the songs. I like Amazon but they don't go out of their way to support Windows Phone/ Windows Mobile with Video and Music apps. Also, think about buying songs from Microsoft sometime...they have one of the largest, if not THE largest, music catalog: Best Streaming Music: Spotify vs Rdio vs Beats vs Pandora and More

How did windows 10 ruin your rear camera?

Seeing lots that I like. But before I commit, I wanted to read a full review. Has anyone seen one? Not seen one on WC, Thurrott or Neowin, or anywhere I normally venture. I'd expected Dan would have reviewed it after a week of use. Weird that nobody has done one.

Noticed a lot on here coming frim the 1520, where as I will be coming from a 920. Hope I can deal with the size jump. Saw the 950 in Carphone Warehouse yesterday, and that looked good. I really need to see th xl in real life.

Dan is working on it, but he said on Twitter that it has been pushed back, so hopefully sometime in the near future.

@david90531 : Love this thread. Thanks for making a positive thread a trending topic and for making the thread in general. I understand that people are and have been disappointed, but with the way how things look on this forum, one would think that everyone is disappointed. Lol :/

That's how people are. If you truly love or like something, you go and tell like 5 of your friends. If something pisses you of you go out and tell the world. Other than that you should consider that onyl a very small percentage of WP/WM users are lurking around these forums and those who are happy with their device/the OS spend their time actually using them instead of coming here and complaining about it.

Anyways, I got my 950XL 5 days ago. Hardware wise there ain't much to complain about, besides I'm really really missing double tap to wake. Software wise, WM10 is still missing a couple things WP8.1 already had (WiFi geofencing, live tiles for battery sense and storage sense etc.) and 6 times out of ten I try and use voice commands with Cortana (or Hey Cortana to begin with), Cortana just crashes out back to the homescreen. But all these things are rather minor first world problems I'd say. And certainly nothing that couldn't be fixed with an update or two.

So all in all: I love my XL! :)

After some tweaking my battery life is amazing. At first I had every feature possible turned on and my battery life was not very good. 8-10 before needing a charge.
After turning of Windows Hello, Hey Cortana, and de-syncing my skype and IM clients by battery life is amazing. After 16-18 hours off charger I still have 30-40% battery left.
I take it off at 7am and put it back on the charger at 11pm. Even with watching videos and playing games the battery is still above 25%. (I'm playing bridge constructor now, very fun game).

At first I missed the dedicated buttons but now I do not. Not having them saves space and make the phone more size friendly. Its just a matter of training your brain to swipe up from bottom to get the buttons.
