I don't see the fiasco.

The only fiasco is that we're all impatient. Otherwise this is the normal update process. Staggered updates going out to a bunch of people who can't wait. Me included.

I posted this another thread but never got an answer...I used the WRT on my 950XL to get the new firmware but it reverted back to the original firmware and now says it is up to date. what give??

That's the behavior I'm seeing too. WRT says that both of our firmware versions are up to date (even though they differ amongst different WRT users). The OS version available on the MS server also seems one update behind what is available OTA (.11 and not .29)

I keep checking for the update, but so far have not seen it., On my Nokia 520 running Windows 10 also,
I never received the November update, even though it was announced in Windows Central that it
was released. Why when it's announced that an update is released, not all insiders get it? I'm thinking
it's the way the update is coded, an earlier post showing the 950 series came out with 2 different
firmware.

WRT is not an update tool. It is a recovery tool so it does not have to have latest version on it, although it may.

Installed Insider Preview and .36 is there.
So now I'm running new firmware + .36

More importantly, what firmware were you on before upgrading to .36. I really believe that the .36 update won't install on devices running the 02008 firmware that was recently pushed out.

I can confirm this... I wasn't getting the update either. Hooked up my XL to WDRT and that saw a new firmware was available.

Installed it via WDRT that did a hard reset on my phone and voila, new firmware installed and still on build .36. Restoring backup as we speak...

Are you enrolled in Windows Insider? You need to be to get 36.

I connected my Lumia 950 dual sim Indian unlocked phone to my laptop and started WDRT and it showed me the update to lastest firmware it showed around 2.6gb download....i said install but the app must have stopped at least 20 times before it finally downloaded the whole 2.6gb file...the phone was updated...thou the firmware went up the OS went to 586.11 from 36....i looked for update it showed 29 was available...thou I only reverted back coz living images stop working on 36....now iam on 29 and living images still working Soo iam happy...setting my phone again....thou i just backed up only the contacts

As many have said, update doesn't appear to be live for GBIE CV variant, not even through WDRT. Very frustrating!

before I had FW 0017 and build .36... after I had FW 0027 and build .36
