The lights dont bother me. They are very subdued. I don't see in the description the charging output. The 950XL takes a higher amp to quickcharge and the unit I reviewed is a 2amp unit. I can't see in the product description what this one is rated for. Also, the reviews on yours on Amazon are varied with some being quite negative.

It draws 2A from the grid, but the output is 1A like the other one.

The one I bought does not come with a power adapter, you supply your own. When I tried 1.5Amp it was charging very slowely so I switeched to 2.4Amp and now it's fine. I have 2 and both work great.

A small piece of electrical tape or similar defeats LED at night issue. :winktongue:

Input isn't so important as output.

Both look to be 1amp output on a 3 coil pad.

FWIW, I don't have a 950/XL but I do have a 1520 which is quite large. My DT-910 charges it very well (in the 25% per hour range), but the back support is a bit small for the phone's size.

I have this on order... Amazon.com: 2-in-1 Anti-Slip Rubber Ring & Separable-Installable Desktop QI pad stand Firstway? Qi Wireless Charger Foldable Kickstand Qi transmitter pad Wireless Charging for iPhone 6S /6 plus/6 /6S Plus/5S,Samsung Note5/S6/S6 Edge/S3/S4/S5/NOTE2/NO and can report back after it arrives and I use it. I like the flexible configuration possibilities and the apparent security of how the phone sits in the stand. Looks like it might just adjust enough to dial in a max contact with 950/XL. If someone wants to send me one of those phones I'd be very pleased to check compatibility.

There appears to be a cutout to the rear of the legs to route the power cord. I do like it out of the way. Doesn't come with a power head, but any .5 to 2.1 mA charger will work and I have several spares around. I'll find one that dials in best.

On the phone I like this App. I can peek at it and see what my charge rate is. Helps me dial in with Qi for placement and good input for max output.

Exactly! :) I am spending a couple weeks already to get the quickest QI charge out of the 950 XL and yes the phone only supports 1A QI charge which results in about 3:30 hrs quickest possible full charge. In real life I am around 4-4:30 hrs which is quite ok (25% / hr). But looking at the details of my battery app and my ampere meter I am convinced that the phones charging behavior can be improved a lot. Especially when comparing to recent Samsung phones (which partially already support 10W QI charging). They charge full speed (5W) constantly until about 90% battery and only then slow down. The 950 XL goes down much much earlier (~50%). I've never had these issues with Lumia 930, 1020 or 920. Lets see how it develops if at all.

I have a few of the DT-900s, and they work great. A little bit of warmth while charging my 950xl is noted, but nothing too hot. Do the 2A wireless chargers create more heat than the 1A?

I own the Choetech 3 coil wireless charger as well and I feel that the glance feature on the Lumias makes it great to have a "stand" style charger as it makes it that much more convenient to just be able to take a quick look and know if you have any notifications.

Quick summary of pros and cons:

Pros:
-Compatible with variety of phones
-3 coils allows for greater charging area
-Premium look and excellent build quality
-Stand design is convenient

Cons:
-Wish that the USB power cable connected to the stand from the back rather than from the side

Here are some pictures:

Great choice! I was very close getting this charger as well but I am still not convinced that it will solve my heat / charging speed I am seeing with the Lumia 950 XL: http://forums.windowscentral.com/mi...-910-very-very-slow-charging.html#post3367745

Could you pls check how long it takes this charger to charge from 0-100% and how hot the phone's screen is getting ? If you cannot measure the temperature is is more cold, warm, hot ? Thanks a lot in advance :)

im using the microsoft (nokia) DC-50 - its not a stand type charger but i can get about 22% charging rate with my 950XL that is in a wallet style case (so that means a little more distance between the Qi coils)
I'm quite happy with it- although you do have to ensure the placement is right before walking away...
Bought it from microsoft store last month when it was on sale for 29.99

EDIT:
did i mention its also a portable Qi battery charger? So far i have only used it as a direct Qi charger, but it will be my portable charger if needed.

Here is my hands on with the Firstway Qi Wireless Charger Foldable Kickstand Qi transmitter pad.

The adjustment range is fantastic. For reference I have my 1520.3 on there which is a big boy phone. You can see just how far up the stand the Qi pad will sit (too high up for 1520, but probably well within range for 950/XL) and how far down the pad will rest.

The pad has click-slide adjustments at all stops throughout the range and allows you to dial in the pad for your phone.

The shelf/phone rest is nicely padded and so is the Q symbol on the pad.

Due to the height and width of the stand, my 1520 is way more stable under input than it ever was on a DT-910.

You could use the pad alone as a lightweight travel charger...

...or fold the kickstand in and use the whole rig as a generous sized charging pad.

Sight_2016_01_09_140342_877.jpg

The kickstand folds flat and clicks securely in place. The whole package is not that thick and it is pretty light in weight.

With the Q symbol in the upright position the LED lights (one green for power, one blue for charge status) are pointing straight down at the stand base and the microUSB port for attaching the cable is facing up. I'm running mine with the Q symbol upside down (does not affect charging) so the cable comes out downward and is routed through the cutout hole in the kickstand. The LEDs are facing up, but the phone blocks them.

It charges my 1520.3 through the clear snap-on case I run and also charges my wife's Nexus 6 through a dual density case. Note that the DT-910 never would charge the Nexus 6 in the thick case it wears. For the Firstway we are looking at, the charge on N6 through a case was a bit slow, but acceptable.

The Firstway comes with a very short (24") USB cord and no power head. I mixed and matched a bit and used this Battery App to check charging rates. I settled on a 5vDC, 1Amp output charging block and a heavy gauge USB cable that I think(?) came from a Nokia somewhere along the line. Dialed in I'm achieving 22.5% charge per hour on my 3400 mAh battery. By contrast the DT-910 reaches 24.78% per hour. I'll take the small reduction in charge rate as a trade off for the increased stability and flexibility of the Firstway foldable kickstand and pad combo.

Color me happy with this purchase: Amazon.com: 2-in-1 Anti-Slip Rubber Ring & Separable-Installable Desktop QI pad stand Firstway? Qi Wireless Charger Foldable Kickstand Qi transmitter pad Wireless Charging for iPhone 6S /6 plus/6 /6S Plus/5S,Samsung Note5/S6/S6 Edge/S3/S4/S5/NOTE2/NO
