Got an update on main 950 Unlocked with .107 and on Insider Production, but I can't get on another same backup phone, could it be because it does not have a SIM inside?

That's interesting, maybe they're with some A-B tests? Trying in some phones first to collect telemetry data?

France, Single Sim 950XL, non insider now downloading...

Edit: Just checked, this update does not include the new firmware as my phone is still on .15506.xxxxx. Wonder when the rest will come.

It's probably better to wait for the firmware to come to you, it's not as if there's any groundbreaking new features being introduced. You never know what side-effects might raise when loading something designed for somewhere else.

I agree with this. I saw the article about forcing the FW update via a change in device code. Despite others having wild successes, I don't wanna cause an unintended bricking of my phone or some crashes, causing me to lose my $h1t over Windows Mobile.

I'm sure there is a very good reason some markets are/aren't getting the FW update. Either MS or carriers need further testing or it's working fine as is. Perhaps those regions who've gotten the FW update was to fix some unforeseen bug. Like call dropping, echoes during calls, handsets getting very hot for no reason even while locked,..etc. The fact that some of us haven't gotten any FW update could mean our handsets are good. As they say, don't fix what ain't broken.

I got the update this morning. After the update I'm on 10586.107 for the OS and 15506.02005 for the firmware. I can't remember if that's the FW I had before.

I thought it was pretty obvious based on the last firmware update how this works by now.

They release it in a few countries first, and then wait and see the results of testing there before releasing worldwide.

It's annoying in this case for those of us with major issues with the 950XL (reboots, poor wifi connectivity, etc.) but the slow rollout lets them control any issues with it.

But last time, the roll out was a bit faster, wasn't it? It seems than after the first batch (two weeks ago), nothing has emerged.

To elaborate on your point, Microsoft says

"Hey guys,

firmware update rollouts are indeed still not complete. One reason for the perhaps slower than expected progress is that we want to monitor and ensure the quality of the release, and get the 10.0.10586.107 OS update rolling out (it contains several improvements for e.g. the phone software update system itself). This OS release was announced last night, see.
